ABOUT THE RED ZEBRA
The Red Zebra is a business based on wood fired food, mainly pizza. we use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients utilizing our markets to purchase from the farmers.
We make our dough, (which we think is unbelievable) and tomato sauce. Our beverages, hot honey, pestos, and many of our condiments are also made from ingredients purchased locally.
Qwners, Susan and Carol have lots and lots of restaurant experience. Susan was an executive chef in restaurants, cafes and hotels which involved catering. she is adamant about maintaining the integrity and quality of the food we serve. Carol has managed a range of restaurants including cafes and fine dining also with many years of catering experience.
Utilizing this experience, we now participate in farmers markets and cater for weddings, graduations, corporate luncheons, birthday parties, bat/bar mizvahs, holiday parties, and bonfire parties. you come up with an idea for a party and we will be there. We have also participated in several high profile events in the Washington DC area.
For our catered events, we offer pizza and salads and for customers who would like more options, you may choose from pastas, appetizers and passed appetizers or susan can work with you on a customized menu. We have bartenders and wait staff available for those who require it.

It’s no wonder Red Zebra has developed a devoted following. The wood-fired pizza oven on wheels parks at various D.C. farmer’s markets, where it sources fresh, local ingredients for its single-serving, made-to-order pizzas. The menu changes daily, but if you’re lucky, you might get to try the lamb sausage and goat cheese pizza with fresh mint pesto or a mushroom ragout pizza with smoked cheddar and goat ricotta.
